My partner and I were looking for an engagement ring together and had a stone and design in mind. We had been doing our research and trying to find 'the ring' for months and stumbled across Nadia's shop in the Strand (and can I say the jewellery on display are always much shinier than what I've seen elsewhere). I first heard of Mondial Jewellers through my son-in-law who had an engagement ring designed and made by them for my daughter. He then proceeded to have their wedding rings and her eternity ring made by Mondial. On a fateful day last year, as I was wandering through the Strand Arcade on my way to get my shoes shined, a ring caught my eye in the window of a jewellery shop.
I’ve never really been into jewellery but this got me thinking and, after I casually mentioned it to my partner (who has a much greater appreciation of fine jewellery, so I’ve slowly discovered), she checked it out and approved of my previously undiscovered talent with a resounding “nice work Harry”.
That was our first of many purchases and the beginning of a beautiful relationship with Mondial.
Since then we’ve bought some stunning pieces and have been greatly assisted by Nadia and her team.
A truly special touch was the loan of a spectacular collier for a function at Government House. It was reluctantly returned but after a few weeks of deliberating it was acquired as it looked better on my partner than in the window.
A visit to Mondial to check out what’s new over a glass of champagne 🥂 and a chat is always a delight, as are the regular admiring comments from women (and men) who also have a good eye for jewellery that is both truly unique and quite exquisite .
