Strand Arcade, Sydney
We understand that fine jewellery is rarely a simple decision. These are the questions we hear most often, answered with the care and honesty we bring to everything we do.
Mondial by Nadia Neuman is a fine jewellery boutique located in Sydney’s historic Strand Arcade. For 65 years, Mondial has been built on trust, craft, family and story, jewellery made to carry meaning through generations. Under the creative direction of Nadia, the boutique is entering a new era: one where emotional expression and modern design sit alongside that deep-rooted heritage. Every piece is considered, personal and made to last.
How long has Mondial been in the Strand Arcade?
Mondial has been part of Sydney's fine jewellery landscape for 65 years, beginning as a wholesale business before establishing a beloved presence in the QVB for over 30 years, and now 17 years in the Strand Arcade. We are one of the few jewellers in Sydney whose history runs this deep, and whose presence in these beautiful heritage precincts reflects genuine longevity, not just as a business, but as a trusted part of people's personal stories.
Generations of families have found their most meaningful pieces with us. You can visit us in the boutique any time.
Who is Nadia, and what does her creative direction mean for Mondial?
Nadia is the creative director of Mondial, a designer whose eye, instincts and artistic philosophy are shaping a new chapter for the brand. Her approach bridges Mondial’s time-honoured heritage with a bold, emotionally-led design language. She brings a deep belief that jewellery should feel like self-expression, not status, pieces that hold meaning, carry stories and grow more significant with time. Under her direction, Mondial is evolving without leaving anything behind.
What makes Mondial different from other fine jewellers in Sydney?
Mondial is not a chain. It is not driven by trend cycles or commercial urgency. What has always defined us and continues to, is a genuine emotional investment in the people who walk through our door. We take time. We listen. We design and advise with care, not pressure. Our craftsmanship is exceptional, and our relationship with each client is built on trust that deepens over years, not transactions.
Custom & Bespoke Jewellery
Can Mondial create a custom piece for me?
Yes, and this is one of the things we do with the greatest care. Whether you have a clear vision or simply a feeling you cannot yet put into words, we guide you through a process that is personal, considered and collaborative. Custom work at Mondial is not a transaction. It is a conversation that begins with your story and ends with something made entirely for you. Reach out to begin.
How does the custom design process work?
It begins with a conversation, in the boutique, at a time that suits you. We listen to what you want to create, the occasion behind it, the feeling you are reaching for. From there, Nadia and our team develop a design direction, sharing sketches and material options along the way. You are involved as much or as little as you choose. The process is guided, never rushed, and always anchored in what matters most to you.
How long does a bespoke piece take to create?
Timelines vary depending on the complexity of the piece, the materials involved and the design process itself. Most bespoke commissions take between three to five weeks. We are always honest about timelines from the outset, and we keep you informed throughout. If you have a meaningful date in mind, an anniversary, a proposal, a milestone, please share it with us early so we can plan with intention.
Do I need to know exactly what I want before I visit?
Not at all. Many of our most beautiful custom pieces began with nothing more than an emotion, a memory or a sense of what felt right. Our role is to help you find the words and then bring them to life. You are welcome to arrive with a clear brief, a reference image, a stone you love, or simply an open mind. We will take it from there.
Jewellery Reimagining & Remodelling
Can Mondial redesign or reimagine inherited jewellery?
Yes, and this is work we approach with particular sensitivity and care. Inherited jewellery carries memory, identity and often loss. We never treat it as raw material. Instead, we begin by understanding the story behind the piece: who it belonged to, what it meant and what you hope it can become. From there, we explore how to honour that meaning while creating something that feels true to who you are now.
Will my original stones and materials be preserved?
In almost every case, yes. We work to retain the elements that matter most, especially stones that carry personal or sentimental significance. During our initial consultation we will assess the piece carefully and be completely transparent about what is possible, what is advisable and what the process involves. Nothing proceeds without your full understanding and approval.
How do I know my piece is in safe hands?
Trust is not something we ask for, it is something we earn. Mondial has been built on six decades of careful, considered work with jewellery that matters deeply to people. We treat every piece that comes through our door with the same respect we would give our own. If you’d like to talk through a piece before bringing it in, you’re always welcome to contact us first.
Can I transform a piece I no longer wear into something I will love again?
This is one of the most rewarding things we do. A ring worn for thirty years can become something a daughter will carry forward. A stone from a gift long outgrown can find a new setting that feels entirely yours. Reimagining is not about erasing the past — it is about allowing meaning to evolve. If you have a piece sitting quietly in a drawer, we would love to hear its story.
Engagement Rings & Special Occasions
Does Mondial design engagement rings?
We do and engagement ring commissions are among the most personal and meaningful work we create. An engagement ring at Mondial is never pulled from a catalogue. It is designed around the person who will wear it, shaped by the story behind the proposal and crafted to last a lifetime. You can explore our engagement ring collection for inspiration, or visit us to begin something entirely your own.
Can I be involved in designing the ring?
Absolutely. Many clients want to design collaboratively, bringing their partner’s preferences, their own instincts and their shared story into the process. Others prefer to trust us with the direction and arrive with a feeling rather than a blueprint. Both approaches lead to beautiful results. We adapt to how you work best.
What makes a Mondial engagement ring different?
It is made for one person. Not adapted, not selected from options — made. The stone is chosen for its quality and character, the design is shaped by the wearer’s personality and the craftsmanship reflects six decades of expertise. A Mondial ring is not a luxury product. It is a personal object, designed to carry meaning for a lifetime and beyond.
Do you create jewellery for occasions other than engagement?
We do. Milestones, anniversaries, births, memorials, graduations, personal achievements — the moments that shape a life deserve to be held in something tangible. If you have an occasion in mind and want to mark it with intention, we welcome the conversation. You can also browse our jewellery collections for pieces that speak to you.
Visiting the Boutique
Where is Mondial by Nadia Neuman located?
Mondial by Nadia Neuman is located at Shop 27, Strand Arcade, 412–414 George Street, Sydney NSW 2000, one of the city’s most beautiful and enduring retail destinations. The Strand Arcade is accessible from both George Street and Pitt Street, and is a short walk from Town Hall and Martin Place stations.
Do I need to make an appointment?
You are always welcome to visit us during boutique hours without an appointment. For custom consultations, reimagining conversations or engagement ring discussions, we recommend reaching out in advance so we can give you our full and undivided attention.
What can I expect when I visit?
A warm welcome and no pressure. Our boutique is calm, considered and personal. You will be greeted by someone who genuinely wants to understand what you are looking for, not to sell you something quickly, but to help you find something meaningful. Whether you are browsing, enquiring or ready to begin a commission, we meet you exactly where you are.
Can I bring someone with me?
Of course. Many of our conversations involve partners, family members or close friends, people whose perspective and presence matter to the decision. Our boutique is designed to feel intimate and unhurried, and we welcome whoever you would like to bring. The more we understand about the people involved, the better we can serve you.
Jewellery Care & Ongoing Service
How should I care for my fine jewellery?
Fine jewellery is made to be worn, but it benefits from a little ongoing attention. We recommend removing pieces before bathing, swimming or applying cosmetics, storing them individually to avoid scratching, and bringing them in periodically for a professional clean and inspection. The team at Mondial is always happy to advise on the specific care needs of your piece, whether you purchased it with us or not.
Does Mondial offer cleaning and repairs?
Yes, though our approach is considered. For our existing clients, jewellery cleaning, inspection and repairs are all part of the ongoing relationship we build over time. For those who are new to Mondial, we assess each request individually and we are always happy to help where we can, and where it feels right for both parties. If you're unsure whether we're the right fit for your piece, the best first step is simply to get in touch or come and see us. We will always be honest about what we can do and what serves your piece best.
Can Mondial resize a ring or adjust an existing piece?
In most cases, yes. Resizing and adjustment depend on the design, metal type and current condition of the piece. We will always inspect it carefully before advising, and we are transparent about what is and is not possible. If adjustments need to be made to protect the integrity of the piece, we will tell you so.
Still have a question?
We are always happy to talk. Visit us in the Strand Arcade, or reach out and a member of our team will respond personally.
